Implementation of the Horsham City to River Masterplan is Underway

The transformational Framework and Masterplan prepared by Urban Enterprise and Tract in 2019 identified a series of priority projects to guide the long term revitalisation of central Horsham. The overarching aim of the Masterplan is to transform and revitalise the area to make it a more attractive place to live, work, visit and invest in.

Council recently endorsed the Concept Plan for the Wimmera Riverfront Precinct. The concept plan aims to activate the riverfront for the community and visitors and better connect the river precinct with the CAD.

A number of recommendations in the Masterplan are being carried forward, including a new public meeting place and riverside café, natural water play splash park and walking/cycling paths.

Council also recently announced that detailed planning for the redevelopment of City Oval and the adjoining Sawyer Park will commence in the coming weeks. City Oval is proposed to be upgraded to a regional facility, which will enable it to host regional scale sporting events.

We are very excited to see the continued progress being made on implementation of the masterplan and the delivery of these transformational projects, which will deliver significant social and economic benefits for the Horsham community.
