PIA ‘Doing it Differently: Rethinking Planning’ Symposium

On Friday 13th October, Paul Shipp, Chris Funtera and Danielle Cousens attended the inaugural PIA Victoria Symposium at the Showtime Events Centre in South Wharf.

Exploring the theme ‘Doing it Differently: Rethinking Planning’, the event was convened by Brett Davis RPIA (Planning Panels Victoria) and Nicola Smith RPIA (Niche Studios) and was a comprehensive program, consisting of a diverse range of presenters and panel discussions, discussing ways to ‘do things differently’.

A key highlight of the day, popular presenter Ravi Dutta of The Behavioural Insights Team (sponsored by Urban Enterprise); explored the Nudge theory concept and the EAST framework as ways behavioural insights could be applied to planning. Urban Enterprise’s own Paul Shipp also hosted the thought provoking Regenerate Rethink Super Eights Session with presentations by transformational change leaders Niloo Amendra (Southern Cemeteries Management Trust), David Howard (GHD), and Terry Dalgleish (South East Water).

With an inspiring and thought-provoking program, showcasing opportunities for networking and engagement across the industry, Urban Enterprise was delighted to be involved in the inaugural PIA Victoria Symposium.
