Project Funding Success: Yarrawonga Library and Bendigo Showgrounds

The proposed redevelopment of the Yarrawonga Library and upgrades to the Bendigo Showgrounds have been the recipients of funding from the Victorian State Government.

The Yarrawonga Library received $1 million as part of the State Government’s Living Libraries Fund, whilst the Bendigo Showgrounds received $680,000 as part of the State’s regional infrastructure fund.

Urban Enterprise prepared the masterplans and supporting business cases for these projects.

The new Yarrawonga Library will create a vibrant civic hub in the centre of town, activating the Town Hall site, providing new opportunities for events and community gathering.

Funding for the iconic Bendigo Showgrounds will be used to fund improvements across the site to help provide ongoing financial sustainability and attract more events and visitors.

These are welcome investments for projects that will assist regional communities in their economic recovery from COVID-19.
