Urban Enterprise proudly sponsor Economic Development Australia Conference

The annual Economic Development Australia conference was held in Lardner Park, Baw Baw Shire in March 2017. Urban Enterprise proudly sponsored the conference, continuing our long-running association with the economic development industry.

The conference theme of “The Art of Excellence” resulted in some great contributions from speakers across a range of fields, often bringing together creative industries, media and visual art to leverage economic development opportunities.

Our work with Councils, tourism boards and regional development agencies across Melbourne and Victoria has consistently highlighted the value of creative industries and the arts to local economies, particularly in supporting tourism. Museums, galleries, theatres and associated community and hospitality facilities drive visitation and economic activity.

We have prepared a number of economic impact studies in recent months which have quantified the economic value of these types of facilities to towns and regions, and look forward to seeing many of these developments realised in the coming years with the support of economic development practitioners.
