Yarra City Council adopt Economic Development Strategy 2020 to 2025

Yarra City Council’s Economic Development Strategy (EDS) was unanimously adopted at the September Council meeting. Urban Enterprise were pleased to prepare the Strategy in collaboration with Council’s Economic Development Unit, local businesses and the resident community.

The Strategy provides a clear vision and action plan for growing Yarra’s economy through supporting the existing business community, protecting and enhancing areas of competitive advantage and improving the liveability characteristics of the municipality.

The priorities for the strategy are focused around business support and recovery during and post Covid-19, and the long term sustainable growth of Yarra’s knowledge and creative industries and activity centres.

The EDS will provide a critical framework for supporting the local economy as it navigates its way through a very challenging period.
